8.15
August Fifteenth is designed by Kazushi Ota, a Japan-born clothing
design who's father owns one of the oldest Kimono companies in Japan. After
designing for such venerable brands like Alden Shoes and Crocket &
Jones, with additional time spent developing specialized goods for the
Japanese market under collaboration with American manufacturers for many
influential brands, he created 8.15 August Fifteenth in 2007. The names comes from the day WWII ended, and the day Woodstock began. His collection is based around the interest of "Coexistence of Tradition and Subculture" with a goal of designing products that merge well on the street.
WITTMORE likes 8.15 August Fifteenth because Kazushi creates the aesthetic of a refined uniform with minimal design.
